When landscape designer Nina Quinn agreed to deck the halls of Christmastowne, an indoor Christmas village, little did she know how dirty the job would be. Christmastowne has been plagued by mishaps. Someone?s stealing toy donations, cutting lines to the security system, starting fires, and poisoning the poinsettias. Worst of all, Nina?s neighbor, Fairlee McCorkle (aka Mrs. Claus) is found murdered under Christmastowne?s enormous decorated tree. The deeper Nina digs for clues to unwrap a killer, the more she discovers that some secrets are best left buried in the past.

Trouble Under the Tree A Nina Quinn Mystery Heather Webber 9781477607565 Books

Heather Webber's TROUBLE UNDER THE TREE is a delightful page-turner with a witty amateur sleuth in Nina Quinn.

The holidays are stressful, and it's even more so for Nina Quinn. She's working long hours on decking out Christmastowne, her fiancé is out of town helping his ailing mother, and she may have lingering feelings about her ex-husband. When a string of incidents occur at Christmastown, it's up to Nina Quinn to dig through the dirt and lies to solve not only Christmas capers, but also a murder, or two.

TROUBLE UNDER THE TREE yanks the reader into the story with the wonderful voice of Nina Quinn. She's sarcastic, witty, and a wonderfully well-written character within an amazing supporting cast. Each character is different and makes their mark. The plot is fast-paced. For a mystery, Webber does well in dropping hints of some secrets but still leaving some big surprises for the end. Since this is a book in the Nina Quinn series, backstory and re-telling who characters are and hinting at the previous books are used. Personally, I could've done without these tidbits and still enjoyed and understood the story, but it didn't affect my love for it either.

After reading TROUBLE UNDER THE TREE by Heather Webber, I want to run out and read the rest of the Nina Quinn series. Be prepared to dig right in!

Trouble Under the Tree A Nina Quinn Mystery Heather Webber 9781477607565 Books Reviews

If you have not read any books by Heather, you need to. The Nina Quinn books are an awesome murder mystery series. I am always looking for the next book to come out. Nina is probably my favorite character in any series of books that I have read. This is a cozy mystery. Full of excitement, laughter, intrigue, danger and of course romance. Heather always surprises me with the twists that her plots take. I never quite know how they will end or who the murderer is until I get to the end. The books can be read in any order but the same fun neighbors, family members and co-workers show up in all of the stories.
Heather Blake / Webber never fails to make me smile with her writing and this book is right in line with that. Nina is up to her usual behaviors with finding bodies and solving crimes while keeping a witty dialogue with others.

I will say that the ending came as a surprise but a pleasant one! I'm very much looking forward to the next installment to see what Nina and Co. are up to. I surely hope there will be many more Nina Quinn books in the future!
Loved it! For some reason, I thought this book was a novella so I did not rush to read it. Sad for me because that means I read it out of order. As always, there is silly fun and really delightful fun. The mystery was complicated enough that I did not figure it out; I just suspected everyone. I did guess the prankster before the end and loved who it was. I especially appreciate that there is growth and character development in each book of the series. I do hope there are more books in this series but the last one so far was handled so well that I wouldn't feel cheated if it didn't continue, just heartbroken.
I've read all the Lucy Valentine books by Heather Webber and loved them all. I just never ordered any of the Nina Quinn books for some reason. I'm not into gardening so I didn't think I'd like them. Boy was I wrong! I got this book due to reading all the positive reviews here on . I adored this book and will have to go back and read the series from the beginning.
Ms Webber is an experienced, talented writer and it shows. I loved all the characters and was surprised by some of the plot twists. Folks that I thought were going to be good, turned out not so. Some who I thought would be bad turned out not so. The motive behind the sabotage was a little obvious but the revelation of the murderer was a surprise. I can't wait to get started on the Nina Quinn series.
A huge fan of Heather Webber's Lucy Valentine series, I must admit this is my first Nina Quinn book, even though they are all in my ridiculously huge TBR pile. Those books are moving up in the pile because I just adore Nina! She is an absolute hoot and had me laughing out loud several times. The setting of this book is just divine...I would love to visit a place such as Christmastown (especially The Gingerbread Oven!) Nina's crazy family is so much fun, and little Gracie the incontinent chihuahua just stole my heart. And as I finished this up last night, I had a mug of Swiss Miss with peppermint marshmallows...just like Nina!
I became a fan of Heather Webber's books when I first read her Lucy Valentine series of "cozy" mysteries. I liked the Lucy books so much that I decided to check out her Nina Quinn series and fell in love with them as well. This is the 6th in the Nina series and I have to say it is my favorite, since I'm also partial to holiday stories. I won't go too much into the plot, but basically Nina has an unfortunate habit of discovering dead bodies, and she ends up jumping in with both feet to try to solve the mysteries. Nina and her band of crazy, funny friends and family are endearing, and you can't help but get caught up in their individual lives. One of the things I like about Heather's heroines like Lucy and Nina is that they get caught up in ridiculous situations because they are good people who care about others. They're not always sure of themselves or what they're doing, but they trudge along because they believe it's the right thing to do. If you've read and enjoyed any of Heather's other books, you will enjoy this new installment. If you haven't read her other Nina books - or her Lucy Valentine books - you definitely need to give them a try. They are a light, fun read. Even though both Lucy and Nina have an entire series of books - and it's enjoyable to follow the changes in everyone's lives as they progress - you don't have to read the first book(s) in order to enjoy later one's. Heather catches you up on everyone in each book, and it can stand on it's own. I'm currentlyl waiting (im)patiently for the next Lucy book, and Heather is working on a new "Wishcraft" series under the name of Heather Blake, and I can hardly wait for them to come out - I will be one of the first in line to pre-order.
